Very nice WW2 German police bayonet made by the maker E&F. Hörster. This is a period shortened model. The nice thing about this bayonet is that it is still number matching. Most of these bayonets received a different number scabbard after the shortening of the blades and scabbards. For this change, they stamped a new number on the back of the blade and the lip of the scabbard, in this case the number “215”. Because this is the original scabbard to the bayonet, the original numbering “S.W.I.432.” is also matching. A very nice example complete with the leather frog and mint condition police portepee.
